Mukesh Chhabra needs no introduction. The casting director is one of the top names in his crafts and recently been receiving praise for his work on Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar and Dhurandhar The Revenge. As he makes news again for the casting in Ranbir Kapoor-led Ramayana, he recentlt spoke up about negativity surrounding both films and slammed the growing troll culture. Read on to know all he said.

Mukesh Chhabra On Trolling, Negativity Surrounding Ramayana, Dhurandhar

Talking about massive online trolling and negativity, Mukesh Chhabra told News18, “The negativity is a bit too much these days. I don’t know ki yeh sab kaun karwaata hai, kaise karwaata hai (I don’t know who makes all this happen or how). People tend to overjudge. I don’t know why. It can happen to anyone these days. This troll culture has gained ground but I can’t really do anything to stop that. I feel bad for everyone.”

During the same conversation, Mukesh also commented on film like Ramayana and Dhurandhar being criticised by the public. Talking about a section of the audience trolling Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama and nick-picking at the VFX in the Ramayana teaser, the casting director said, “The moment they see a glimpse of a film, they start reacting. But you know what’s the best part? These trolls immediately disappear the moment a film releases. I feel both bad and scared because people can say anything about anyone today.”

Noting how a similar thing happened around the time Aditya Dhar, Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar released, Mukesh Chhabra said, “When Dhurandhar was about to release, there was negative chatter online but everyone believed in the film. The audience is very, very smart.”

Mukesh: I Really Think Ranbir & Ranveer Should Do A Film Together

While the some audience constantly pit Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh against each other, Mukesh Chhabra wants to see them together onscreen. He said, “Both of them are fantastic actors. They’ve their individual styles and processes. I really think they should do a film together. Aisa ek zabardast film banna chahiye. It will be the biggest film of the country.”

About Both Projects

Aditya Dhar’s spy thriller starred Ranveer Singh in the lead role and was released in two parts. Despite many labelling the film as propaganda, both film combines has amassed over Rs 3000 crore globally. In fact, The Revenge is on its to become the highest grossing Indian film worldwide to date (excluding China) despite being banned in a couple of countries. Aside from RS, the film also stars Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt and Rakesh Bedi in key roles.

Ramayana – also set to release in two parts, will hit cinemas globally on Diwali 2026 and Diwali 2027. The highly anticipated film is helmed by Nitesh Tiwari, and stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Ravana. It also features Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman, Ravie Dubey as Lakshman.
