Ravindra Jain

Renowned music director Ravindra Jain, an exponent of Rabindra Sangeet, died here on Friday evening following a prolonged illness. Jain was 71 and suffering from a urinary infection. He had been unwell since quite a long time now. The singer who had gone to Nagpur for a programme was admitted to Wockhardt hospital there, as his health took a turn for the worse he was shifted to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital.

Ravindra Jain, was given a break by Raj Kapoor and he went on to compose songs for the showman’s flicks such as ‘Ram Teri Ganga Maili’ and many others. He later entered the field of mythological movies and televisions serials Jain was blind, but he never let his physical impairment hinder his work thus became an inspiration to many.

Ravindra Jain is survived by his wife Divya, son Aayushman and brother Manindra.
