It’s a sad day for Bollywood. Veteran actor Nana Patekar – who has starred in Hindi, Marathi, Tamil and Telugu film for decades now, is no more. The actor – who is loved for performances in films such as Welcome, Parinda, Krantiveer, Ab Tak Chhappan (2004) and more, passed away at age following a cardiac arrest.

According to reports, he suffered severe chest pain at his home in Goa, following which a medical team was dispatched to his flat.

Nana Patekar Dies At 75

As per multiple media reports, veteran actor Nana Patekar died on Thursday morning after suffering a cardiac arrest at his residence in Goa. According to reports, Nana suffered severe chest pain at his home in Goa, following which a medical team was dispatched to his flat. He was found unconscious and administered cardiac massage at the spot before being rushed to a private hospital in Dona Paula. Insiders revealed that the doctors tried to revive him for almost 45 minutes after he was brought in, but there was no response.

The veteran actor was declared dead by the hospital’s medical team at 5:20 AM. A post-mortem examination is scheduled to be conducted today to medically and legally determine the cause of death.

Patekar’s son, Malhar Patekar, was in Pune at the time of the actor’s demise. He has now left for Goa.

As per reports, Nana Patekar was in Goa for an event. He was last seen publicly at an event in Dona Paula on October 4. As per PTI, Patekar attended the Samraat Club International installation ceremony in Goa. The video is now going viral on social media.

Nana’s Career

Born Vishwanath Patekar, Nana Patekar began his acting career by starring in the 1978 Hindi film Gaman before playing a supporting role in the Marathi drama Sinhasan the next year. Some of the actor’s most prominent films include Parinda, Krantiveer, Agni Sakshi, Ab Tak Chhappan, Welcome, Apaharan, Taxi No 9211 and Raajneeti.

Patekar was last seen playing a pivotal role Vishal Bhardwaj’s 2026 romantic action thriller O’ Romeo. His other 2026 releases include Prakash Jha’s socio-political series Sankalp and a cameo appearance in Subedaar.

He is the recipient of many aways, including three National Film Awards and two Maharashtra State Film Awards as well as several more. He was conferred with the Padma Shri award in 2013 for his contribution in cinema and arts.
