Neena Gupta on concept of sex
In a candid conversation with Lilly Singh, Neena Gupta shared her thoughts on the concept of sex and how it’s perceived, especially by women in India. “I feel very sad for women and sex. Because I’m talking about India – I’m talking about 99, or maybe 95 percent, of Indian women who don’t know that sex is for enjoyment. [For them,] It is to please a man and have babies. All the people here in this studio are the minority in India, but for the majority, it’s not a pleasure. So it’s very overrated.”When Lilly Singh lauded her for not whispering the word ‘sex’, Neena said, “Because I feel it’s a very overrated thing. I feel it’s the most overrated word.”
Neena also opened up about how movies shaped up her idea of sex and sexual desire. She added, “What did they show in our movies? If you are a woman, your basic motto was to find a man. In fact, for the longest time, I thought we could get pregnant if we kissed. I literally thought it was true. That was what our movies showed us.”
On the work front, Neena Gupta appeared in two web shows recently. One of them was Dil, Dosti and Dogs and the other one was Aachari Baa alongside Kabir Bedi.
