Neetu Kapoor Opens Up About Respecting Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt’s Privacy

Neetu Kapoor recently spoke about the importance of giving space to married children and maintaining healthy boundaries in family relationships. The actress, who now lives in the same building as Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt at the newly renovated Krishna Raj Kapoor Bungalow, shared why she consciously avoids interfering in their personal life.

During a chat with Soha Ali Khan, Neetu said she strongly believes parents should step back once their children get married. Even though she stays in the same building, she revealed that she never visits Ranbir and Alia whenever she pleases because she wants them to have their own space and independence.

Explaining her approach further, she said, “I don’t want them to feel that their mother is always sitting there. Their privacy is their privacy. I don’t interfere. Even Raha comes to me whenever she is free; I don’t go there unannounced.”

The veteran actress also remembered how she used to advise her late husband, Rishi Kapoor, to give their daughter Riddhima Kapoor some breathing room after marriage. She recalled telling him not to constantly call Riddhima. This was after she settled down with her husband Bharat Sahni, reminding him that the couple needed their own personal space and life together.

Neetu also shared a light-hearted glimpse into her equation with Alia when it comes to granddaughter Raha Kapoor. Joking about their differing opinions, she revealed that she often tries to convince Alia to let her pamper Raha with chocolates. Meanwhile Alia remains strict about limiting sugar intake. Laughing about it, Neetu said she enjoys embracing her role as the indulgent grandmother.

Praising Alia’s parenting style, Neetu described her as a disciplined and responsible mother. While adding that Ranbir shares a friendly bond with little Raha.

Neetu’s Professional Front

On the professional front, Neetu Kapoor was recently seen in Daadi Ki Shaadi. About the movie, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni recently made her Bollywood debut with Daadi Ki Shaadi alongside her mother Neetu Kapoor. Earlier, Aamir Khan had also praised the film and Riddhima’s performance after attending a special screening. Directed by Ashish R Mohan, the film features Kapil Sharma, Sadia Khateeb, R Sarathkumar, Teju Kolhapure, and Deepak Dutta in key roles. The film has opened to mixed reviews from critics.
