Netflix announces 'Sacred Games' season two with an intriguing teaser

Netflix India has announced that the popular crime drama series ‘Sacred Games‘, starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Saif Ali Khan, will return for a second season. The thriller series, based on author Vikram Chandra’s novel of the same name was directed by Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane, the first season of the series premiered on Netflix on July 6.

Now the official handle of the much popular channel shared the teaser of the new season on social media, which has without revealing much about the plot implied that Nawazuddin’s memorable character Ganesh Gaitonde will be back.

The 45-second teaser shows a mandala spinning around with most of the characters from season 1 provide a voice over. We hear not only Nawazuddin’s character Gaitonde asking, “Do you believe in God,” but also Saif Ali Khan’s Sartaj Singh. At the end of the teaser, the mandala stops spinning to reveal a new title design for the second season, complete with a numerical ‘2’ in the Devnagri script.

The second season will pick up from Sartaj Singh trying to save the city and others wondering if Gaitonde is dead as the streaming giant said in a press release. Actor Pankaj Tripathi, who depicted the intriguing Guruji in season one will also be back in a bigger avatar.

‘Sacred Games’ is the first of eight Indian series that Netflix has commissioned. The first season has been received well by critics and fans alike and now the makers are all set to bring back the intriguing plot for their fans in the second season too.
