A few days back we came across reports of Nishikant Kamat being diagnosed with chronic liver disease. The ‘Drishyam’ director is hospitalised in Hyderabad and earlier today reports of his death started doing the rounds of the social media. So much so, that even celebs started pouring in condolence messages for the director.

Thankfully, putting a stop to all these rumours filmmaker Milap Zaveri and actor Riteish Deshmukh clarified that Kamat is still fighting for life. They even stated that his condition is critical but thankfully he is alive.

Falling prey to one such unverified report of Kamat’s death, Milap Zaveri first tweeted, “Heartbreaking news that Nishikant Kamat passed away. He judged My 1st play ever in Jaihind College where he awarded me best actor and writer. He was gonna direct “Sanak” written by @shiekhspear and me, starring @juniorbachchan Sadly the film didn’t happen. Will miss him(sic)”

However later he clarified that he spoke with someone who is with Kamat in hospital and they have clarified that he is alive and fighting for life. “Just spoke to someone who is with Nishikant in the hospital right now. He hasn’t passed away yet. Yes he is v critical and fighting life and death. But he is still alive(sic)” tweeted Milap.

Riteish Deshmukh also clarified that Kamat is on a ventilator.”Nishikant Kamat is on ventilator support. He is still alive & fighting. Let’s pray for him.”Riteish tweeted.

We pray for Kamat’s speedy recovery. And hope he bounces back at the earliest.
