The Barfi! star, Ranbir Kapoor, who will be seen playing the role of Sanjay Dutt in the actor’s biopic had yet another biopic to work on. Ranbir along with his Barfi director Anurag Basu was  keen to throw some light on legendary singer Kishore Kumar’s life in his biopic, but unfortunately, this biopic has been shelved.

The Rockstar of Bollywood, who is busy promoting his upcoming film ‘Tamasha’ co-starring Deepika Padukone, revealed that the makers of the biopic have decided to scrap this project due to many reasons. One of the major reasons because of which the film has been shelved is that Kishore Kumar’s family is not happy with the script followed by the casting issues. There were reports that Kishore Kumar’s son Amit Kumar wanted Anurag Basu to make some changes to the script. Even though the director had given an assurance to Amit Kumar, he failed to make those specified changes to the script.

Apart from this, there were reports indicating some financial problems in the making of the film. Anurag Basu wanted to use some original recordings of the legendary singer, but with the music company Sa Re Ga Ma, who has the rights of these recordings, charging a bomb per recording the project seemed to be an over budget project.

Almost after three years of the announcement made by Ranbir and Anurag about this biopic, Ranbir finally made it clear that this film has been shelved and there would be no movie exploring Kishore Kumar’s life, at least for now!
