Oscars 2020: Priyanka Chopra gives the Academy Awards a miss; congratulates team ‘Parasite’ for its historic win

South Korean filmmaker Bong Joon-ho made a historic record after bagging the Best Director Award for his film ‘Parasite’, which also has also won three other awards, i.e,  Best Picture, Best International Feature, and Best Original Screenplay. Not only the celebs in the west, Priyanka Chopra too took to congratulating the team for bagging the prestigious award. However, the desi girl was not able to attend the awards night.

Representing our country at the global level, Priyanka Chopra has always been vocal about good cinema and she never fails at congratulating the talents for their great achievements. The pretty actress who gave a miss this year to the prestigious award function, took to her Instagram handle and shared a lovely cryptic note for the team of ‘Parasite’.

She wrote, “It’s time for representation. As people and as entertainers we are one through entertainment. Our craft has the power to transcend borders and languages, and tonight parasite demonstrates exactly that (sic).” Take a look at her social media post for the Oscar winners.

The actress also took to her Twitter handle and shared a cryptic note to speak up about how she couldn’t make it to the Oscars.

Coming back to the film, ‘Parasite’, is a South Korean black comedy thriller, which has been helmed bt Bong Joon-Ho, who has also contributed to the screenplay writing. The film starred, Song Kang-ho, Lee Sun-Kyun, Cho Yeo-Jeong, Choi Woo-Shik, and Park So-Dam and few others in the key roles. The plot of the film revolves around the members of a poor household who scheme to become employed by a wealthy family by infiltrating the household and posing as unrelated, highly qualified individuals. Earlier the film was premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 2019.
