About The Latest Accusation On Palaash
According to a report by the Free Press Journal, a case has been registered against the singer and composer. He has been charged with cheating and offences under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. The complaint was filed by Vidnyan Mane, a childhood friend of cricketer Smriti Mandhana. He accused Muchhal of financial cheating and casteist remarks during dealings related to a film project.
What Did Vidnyan Mane Say?
The complaint states that Mane accused Muchhal of taking Rs 25 lakh as an investment in a film project and then failing to return the money. As reported by NDTV, the complainant said, “On November 22, 2025, when he was in Sangli, I, along with my friends, met him in person. During this meeting, we realised that we had been deceived. At the same time, he made deeply offensive and casteist remarks about a particular community, which I have detailed in my FIR, as they are not appropriate to repeat publicly.” Mane further added that he filed an FIR against Muchhal in January 2026 with the Sangli Superintendent of Police.
The complaint alleges that Muchhal met Mane in Sangli on December 5, 2023. He showed interest in investing in a film titled ‘Nazaria’ as a producer. After the film’s release on OTT platforms, Mane claimed Muchhal told him he could earn a profit of Rs 12 lakh on an Rs 25 lakh investment and even offered him a role in the film. The two reportedly met twice more, and Mane claims he gave Muchhal a total of Rs 40 lakh by March 2025. However, the project was left incomplete. Mane, seeking his money back, received no response, prompting him to approach the police.
In response, Muchhal announced that he had filed a defamation suit against Mane over what he called “false” allegations. In an Instagram post, he stated, “A legal notice of defamation of Rs 10 crore has been sent by my lawyer Shreyansh Mithare to Sangli-based Vidnyan Mane for his false, outrageous and highly defamatory accusations made with the deliberate intent to malign my reputation and character.”
