Sabyasachi Mukherjee is a well-known name in the arena of Bollywood. The man is known to weave his magic on the most beautiful Indian attires, and the way he transforms Bollywood actresses into breathtaking brides on their special day, courtesy his talent, is commendable.

The eminent designer was invited to speak at Harvard, and during the same, he made a statement which goes like this. “I think, if you tell me that you do not know how to wear a sari, I would say shame on you. It’s a part of your culture, (you) need to stand up for it.”

Well, needless to say that the comment brought in a lot of negativity and flak for the designer. Women on social media brought in words like a storm.

However, the designer has apologised. In a long apology letter that he has posted on Instagram, Sabya has clarified that he did not intend to hurt anyone’s feelings, and it was just a statement made in some other context, as an answer to a question that was posed to him on culture.
