Queen Elizabeth II’s husband and Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip breathed his last on April 9. He was 99. The tragic news of Prince Philip’s demise was shared by the Royal Family. Reportedly, Prince Philip wasn’t keeping well for the last few months. He would have turned 100 in June.

Sharing the news of the Prince’s demise, a statement from the Buckingham Palace read, “It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen announces the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle.” Several B-town celebs mourned the demise of the Duke of Edinburgh.

Priyanka Chopra offering condolences tweeted, “So sad to hear the news today. #RestInPeace Prince Philip(sic).”

Reacting to the news of Prince Philip’s demise, Pooja Bhatt tweeted, “End of an era in more ways than one.”

Aftab Shivdasani shared a picture of the late Duke of Edinburgh and wrote, “RIP.”

Amitabh Bachchan’s granddaughter Navya Naveli Nanda shared a throwback picture of the Duke along with Queen Elizabeth II.

Saif Ali Khan’s sister Saba Pataudi also shared a throwback picture of the Duke on her Instagram stories. She wrote RIP alongside the picture.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi offering condolences tweeted, “My thoughts are with the British people and the Royal Family on the passing away of HRH The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. He had a distinguished career in the military and was at the forefront of many community service initiatives. May his soul rest in peace(sic)”
