Priyanka Chopra and others ecstatic as Manushi Chhillar bags the Miss World crown

After 17 long years, India emerged victorious as Manushi Chhillar won the Miss World trophy and made the country proud. India had to wait for 17 years to bag this huge honour and clearly the lady’s win has brought about a renewed sense of hope and confidence in every other woman who aims to achieve the coveted title.

The last victory was clinched by global sensation Priyanka Chopra in the year 2000. Post Priyanka, none could manage to achieve what Manushi has achieved and it has definitely made every single person happy and proud. Manushi in a statement said, “The feeling is still sinking in and I am very excited to make India proud too. I’m also looking forward to the year ahead.” All of 21, apart from the main title, Manushi also won the ‘Beauty With Purpose’ Award.

As soon as the news of her emerging victorious at the pageant spread around, wishes galore started pouring in and amongst those congratulatory wishes were also Bollywood celebs who expressed their happiness over a tweet. Ex-Miss World Priyanka Chopra, ex-Miss Universe Sushmita Sen, ex-Miss Asia Pacific Dia Mirza and former beauty queen Neha Dhupia were amongst some celebs who wished the newly crowned Miss World.
