Priyanka Chopra Celebrates 16 Years Of Vishal Bhardwaj’s Kaminey With Nostalgic Post; Calls Shahid Kapoor-Starrer “Turning Point In My Career”

Priyanka Chopra needs no introduction. The actress – who began her acting career with the Tamil film Thamizhan in 2002, is one of the finest actors not only in Bollywood but Hollywood too. The actress – who is currently one of the most sought after names globally, took to her social media earlier today and celebrated 16 years of Kaminey with a nostalgic photo dump. Priyanka Chopra Celebrates 16 Years Of Kaminey

Earlier today, Priyanka Chopra took to her Instagram handle and shared several glimpses of Kaminey celebrating 16 years of the Vishal Bhardwaj directorial. She began her post by remembering her ‘bindaas’ character Sweety Bhope. Noting how she got the part, PeeCee wrote, “I was filming for Dostana in Miami, Florida with @tarun_mansukhani directing and @bachchan and @thejohnabraham starring. One cool evening after we wrapped shoot , I saw a missed call from Vishal Bhardwaj.”

Talking about Bhardwaj and recalling how he flew to the States to meet her for the role, the actress continued, “‘What?? I had wanted to work with him forever and never thought he would cast me because of my ‘commercial’ image at the time. He said he’d like to come see me, and he did. To Miami. I remember him telling me the story and I said, ‘Well, she has approximately 8 scenes.’ And he said, ‘With us working on it, it will end up being so much more. Trust me.’ And I did.”

Priyanka: I Was Just Greedy To Work With Vishal

Praising the film, Priyanka Chopra continued, “He promised he would make something incredible for me after this in appreciation for doing the part. But honestly, I was just greedy to work with him. A few years later, we did 7 Khoon Maaf. Kaminey remains a turning point in my career. I learned so much from the master @vishalrbhardwaj, how to research, prepare and then surrender to the part. @shahidkapoor was sensational in his double role. #AmolGupte was unforgettable. I also met @mubinarattonsey for the first time on this set. Those were the times. 16 years ago!”

On the professional front, Priyanka is all set to make her comeback in Indian cinemas with SS Rajamouli’s SSMB29 co-starring Mahesh Babu.
