Priyanka Chopra expressed that she understands people’s curiosity about her daughter, but her primary focus is on keeping Malti Marie safe and protected. The actress prefers to shield her daughter, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas, from the public eye. She recently shared that she has implemented security measures to safeguard Malti’s privacy, recalling an incident where a stranger followed her home from school.
Priyanka Chopra Reveals Why She Wants To Keep Malti Marie Out Of Public Eyes
In a recent appearance on Amanda Hirsch’s Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, Priyanka discussed why she and Nick Jonas are emphasising their daughter’s privacy as she grows up. “As she’s getting older, we’ve started to deflect a little more. She moves around a lot, so we let her have as much anonymity as possible. It’s her normal, and I want her to feel safe and unjudged, not fearful of curiosity or skeptical of the people she meets. There are good people in the world, and I’ve had wonderful experiences with them. It’s okay for her to be aware, but having a sense of choice will be important,” she said.
Priyanka also shared why they’ve hired security when they go out. She revealed that her daughter was once followed home from school by someone recording her without permission. While Priyanka chose a public life for herself, she wants to give her daughter the freedom to decide what she’s comfortable with in the future.
“When we have security out and about, it’s mainly to prevent unauthorised recordings—so much of that happens now. I’ve always believed I chose a public life, but with children, we’re all learning what that means for the next 10 to 20 years. A little grace and awareness of safety are necessary,” she explained.
During the interview, Priyanka emphasised that while curiosity about her daughter is natural, her top priority is Malti’s protection. Priyanka married Nick Jonas in 2018, and they became parents in 2022 through surrogacy, welcoming their daughter Malti Marie Chopra Jonas.

It is a time-travel film, and its teaser hints at an intriguing storyline. Currently in production, Varanasi is scheduled for release in theatres in April 2027. Fans can also look forward to her appearance in the second season of the web series Citadel.
