The National Film Awards are a prestigious recognition of outstanding achievements in the world of Hindi Cinema. The winners of the 69th National Film Awards were announced back in August. On October 17, the official award ceremony took place at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi in the presence of President Droupadi Murmu conferring the awards. Several celebrities and filmmakers including Alia Bhatt, Kriti Sanon, Allu Arjun, R Madhavan, Karan Johar, and SS Rajamouli and others attended the awards ceremony. As Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani starrer Shershaah also won the Special Jury award at National Film Award ceremony, producer Karan Johar called it a momentous day.

Sharing a video receiving the coveted National Award, Karan Johar penned a note expressing gratitude towards the team of Shershaah. aA part of his note read, “A momentous day for us all. Firstly, my biggest admiration for @apoorva1972, always the strongest pillar of strength in any situation. Thank you @sidmalhotra, who brought this special story to us at @dharmamovies. And continued to play the role of Captain Vikram Batra like no one could! You are the heart of the film… @kiaraaliaadvani, truly one of the most special artists we have in the industry today…you brought in the pain, the pathos and the pride with Dimple’s character.”

Other National Film Awards winners


The ceremony was a starry affair with several actors winning big awards. Alia Bhatt and Kriti Sanon receives the best actress award for their performance in Gangubai Kathiawadi and Mimi respectively. Allu Arjun became the first Telugu actor as she bagged Best Actor award for Pushpa: The Rise. Apart from them, Vicky Kaushal starrer Sardar Udham received the award for being the Best Hindi Film.

Well, the award ceremony was indeed a proud moment and joyous moment as some of the best talents of Cinema was recognized.
