Bollywood as an industry often becomes a soft target. Hindi film industry is one of the most successful and commercially viable industries around the world but it invariably finds itself in trouble over sensitive issues. Bollywood is often at crossroads over the India-Pakistan conflict. Raj Kundra is the latest victim of the same.

Raj, who is Shilpa Shetty‘s husband, was speaking to the media about his debut directorial single. He was asked about having Pakistani singer Rahat Ali Khan’s voice for the music album as Rahat is currently being investigated by the Enforcement Directorate in India over tax evasion.

Raj Kundra said, ‘‘Industry has said that Pakistani actors and singers cannot act in the country. We obviously follow law of the land. Whichever song Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has sung has been recorded outside India and I don’t think there is any law regarding not allowing anyone’s voice in India.”

Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has a huge fan following all around the world and has a soothing voice. Rahat has sung some of the best chartbusters in Bollywood, as well, in recent times.

The likes of Sonu Nigam, Abhijit Bhattacharya have always raised objections regarding Pakistani artiste’s entry in India and allowing them to perform. But, we all have to remember that, art and politics should not be mixed up. What do you think folks? Is it okay for Rahat to sing for an Indian music label? Share your thoughts with us.
