After ‘Stree’, Rajkummar Rao and Dinesh Vijan to reunite for another horror comedy
After ‘Stree’, Rajkumar Rao and Dinesh Vijan are all set to reunite for another horror film. This would be their third outing after ‘Stree’ and ‘Made In China’. According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, Rajkumar Rao and Dinesh Vijan’s next horror film has been titled ‘Rooh-Afza’. It will also belong to the same genre: horror comedy.
‘Rooh-Afza’ is currently in the scripting stage and will go on floors later this year. The film will be set in Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad and will have another Ghost story. In the film, the ghost will make efforts to capture every newly-wed man whenever a wedding happens in the village. In order to keep men safe, women belonging to the village gather to keep the groom awake through his first night.
Dinesh told the publication, “Even though the film is named after a refreshing summer drink, there is nothing sweet about ‘Rooh-Afza’.”
According to the report, ‘Newton’ actor will have ‘Fukrey‘ fame Varun Sharma for company. The leading Heroine of the film has not been announced as of now. The film will be co-produced by Dinesh Vijan and Mrighdeep Lamba, director of the ‘Fukrey’ franchise. The film’s producers will also jointly take a decision and soon finalise the director for ‘Rooh-Afza’.
Confirming Rajkumar Rao in ‘Rooh-Afza, Dinesh had told a leading tabloid, “Yes, Raj and I are back and I couldn’t be happier as he’s one of the most talented actors we have today. He springs a surprise with every film and this one will be no different. He plays a small-time goon whose plans go haywire when he discovers that he might be in store for some supernatural encounters. You can be sure he will be as riveting as ‘Stree’s ladies’ tailor, chasing after a Ghost .”
Dinesh Vijan is currently waiting for his next release ‘Luka Chuppi’ featuring Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon in the lead roles. He has earlier produced several commercially acclaimed movies such as ‘Love Aaj Kal’, ‘Cocktail’, ‘Hindi Medium’ and ‘Stree’.
