Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra calls Gulzar his ‘Guru’

Filmmaker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra has called the legendary lyricist Gulzar his “guru”.

The two were at the first screening of Mehra’s upcoming film ‘Mirzya’. The filmmaker took to Twitter on Sunday: “At the first screening of ‘Mirzya’ with my guru Gulzar and my beautiful producer/editor Bharathi.”

‘Mirzya’ introduces Saiyami Kher, Anuj Chaudhary as well as actor-producer Anil Kapoor’s son Harshvardhan Kapoor.

Produced by CINESTAAN Film Co and ROMP Pictures, the film is directed by Mehra. Its story has been written by poet and lyricist Gulzar, with music created and crafted by the musical trio of Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.
