The controversy arose a few days ago when Jaya Bachchan made a statement criticising the paparazzi, referring to them as “rats wearing dirty tight pants.” Her comments sparked outrage among photographers, who collectively decided to boycott the Bachchan family from their coverage. In response, Rakhi Sawant, known for her bold and theatrical style, arrived in Mumbai on the night of December 14th for an event featuring ‘Bigg Boss 19’ runner-up Farhana Bhatt.

During her appearance on the red carpet, Rakhi made a dramatic entrance by hiding inside a large blue drum. She then emerged from the drum and playfully warned Jaya Bachchan, saying, “Jaya ji… don’t say anything to my paparazzi. Otherwise, I will take you in this drum.”

In another video, Rakhi further joked, “I have brought this drum for Jaya Bachchan. I will make Jaya Bachchan sit on it. If Jaya Bachchan says anything to my paps, then Jaya… first fix your clothes… then tell my paps. If the paps are here today, it is because of us. I am proud of my paps. Love you…”

At the ‘We The Women’ event in Mumbai earlier this week, Jaya Bachchan expressed her frustration with paparazzi, saying, “Yeh gande gande pant pehen ke, mobile leke [aa jaate hai]… They think that because they have a mobile, they can take your picture, say what they want. The kind of comments they pass!” Her pointed remarks, which many industry voices labelled as “elitist,” have now escalated the situation.

Rakhi’s dramatic response has added fuel to the ongoing debate over celebrity-paparazzi relations and the recent remarks by Jaya Bachchan.
