Ranbir Kapoor talks about his 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' co-star Fawad Khan

Last year, filmmaker Karan Johar had gone through a lot of hurdles before the release of his directorial ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’. One of the prime reasons behind it, as many would be aware was that it featured a brief appearance of Pakistani star Fawad Khan. Currently, Pakistani artistes have been banned from working in Indian films, indefinitely. Recently, actor Ranbir Kapoor who shared screen space with Fawad in ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ said that he is an admirer of him and feels sad that his name was dragged into a controversy during the release of their film.

It was during his interview with an agency when the actor said, “I am a big admirer of Fawad as a talent. His role in ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ added so much of dignity and so much of an impact. He was kind enough to do it as it was like a guest appearance, it wasn’t a big part. It was unfortunate that due to the political climate Fawad had to bear the brunt. But he is someone who I admire and I also connected to him as a friend. I would love to do a film with him where we can share the screen space for a longer time.” [sic] (Also Read: Ranbir Kapoor opens up on how he feels about the reports of his personal life)

Further, Ranbir said that his parents Rishi and Neetu Kapoor are also Fawad Khan’s fans.

“I loved his part in ‘Kapoor & Sons’. My parents are his fans. My mother is borderline obsessed with Fawad, she has been watching serials like ‘Humsafar’,” added the ‘Tamasha’ actor. [sic]

With ‘Kapoor & Sons’, Rishi Kapoor had also shared screen space with this Pakistani heartthrob where he played Fawad’s onscreen grandfather in the film.

Currently, Ranbir Kapoor is running busy with the promotions of his upcoming film ‘Jagga Jasoos’ that is slated to hit the screens this coming Friday, July 14.
