Rani Mukerji is back with a bang in ‘Mardaani 2’. The trailer released on November 14 and everyone is raving Rani’s stellar performance in it. Her character of Inspector Shivani Roy is getting rave reviews. The movie has now landed in trouble as Kota residents have registered their protest against ‘Mardaani 2’.

The movie is set in Kota, Rajasthan. In the trailer, it is shown that the movie is based on true events. The movie is about a rapist of Kota who is raping and killing young girls and Shivani Roy is on a mission to catch him.

As per news agency IANS, the residents of Kota met Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla on Friday (November 15). The residents say that Kota is an educational hub with many educational centres. But the movie tells a different story of the city that is against the city’s legacy.

Om Birla addressed the media and said that the issue will be discussed with concerned people. “It is unacceptable to malign a city’s name through cinema. The fictional story clearly mentioning the city’s name is not justified,” he said.

We wish the movie gets through all the problems and has a smooth release.

Directed by Gopi Puthran, ‘Mardaani 2’ also stars Vikram Singh Chauhan, Shruti Bapna, Rajesh Sharma and Sudhanshu Pandey. The action-thriller is slated to hit the theatres on December 13.
