Ranveer Allahbadia conducted an ‘Ask Me Anything’ session on his Instagram handle on Wednesday night, where he candidly addressed several questions surrounding the India’s Got Latent controversy. When asked by a user if he was still in touch with comedian Samay Raina, Ranveer reassured fans that not only were they still connected, but that the incident had brought them closer.

“Samay will be back. All of us have gotten closer after the events. Stand by each other in good times as well as in bad times. My brother is (already) a media legend. God is watching over all of us. Just wanna say, love you Ashish Chanchlani & The Rebel Kid as well. Picture abhi baaki hai,” Ranveer wrote in response.

Ranveer also extended his support to fellow creators Ashish Chanchlani and Apoorva Mukhija, also known as The Rebel Kid, who were part of the infamous panel during the controversial episode.

This comes shortly after Ranveer made his return to podcasting following the fallout from the India’s Got Latent episode, where he had posed an inappropriate question to a contestant. The remark drew widespread backlash online and resulted in multiple FIRs. Although the panel laughed off the moment, the public and legal response was severe. The National Commission for Women (NCW) intervened, and Ranveer had to submit a written apology. The Supreme Court, while granting him interim protection from arrest, called his remarks “vulgar” and indicative of a “dirty mind.”

In the same AMA session, Ranveer also opened up about the personal cost of the controversy. When asked what he lost during the ordeal, he cited a long list, “Health, money, opportunity, repute, mental health, peace, parents’ contentment and much more.” However, he reflected that the experience led to a phase of “transformation” and “spiritual growth.” Ranveer mentioned that he is trying to get what he lost and further wrote, “Will slowly work towards getting back everything that’s lost. Let the work speak.”

Ranveer further revealed his deepest fears during the backlash. “That I let down the families of my team members because of my mistake. People don’t understand how many jobs were at stake… Learnt very deeply about human nature. Mobs love seeing people fall.” Still, he expressed determination to rebuild and continue working hard for the many livelihoods dependent on his platform.
