Ranveer Singh, Hrithik Roshan or Yash? Ayan Mukerji responds to who will play Dev in Brahmastra 2

Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva was released in September. Brahmastra received a great response from the audiences. The Ayan Mukerji directorial also starred Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy. Shah Rukh Khan made a cameo in the film. The first part also teased the audiences with Dev and Amrita’s looks. Since then, many have been wondering who will play the role of Dev. It was recently reported that KGF star Yash has been approached to play the part. However, Karan Johar denied it.

Now, Ayan Mukerji has reacted to the rumours. Ayan told India Today, “I love Yash. It would be great if he plays Dev. No, I am joking.”

He added, “There were rumours about Ranveer Singh, the biggest rumour or other rumours about other actors but I cannot say anything. The fun of Dev’s story is that it will come at the right time.”

Ayan went on to add, “What if somebody is already playing Dev or is in talks… then you are asking me a question that can set the whole thing off. I really cannot answer this right now. Just wait for it, there is fun in awaiting too.”

Apart from Ranveer, it was also reported that Hrithik Roshan will play the role of Dev. Hrithik then reacted to rumours about him playing Dev and told PTI, “What is happening? Nothing is happening. Next Fighter will start and then there is potential for others to be made, including the ones you spoke of. Fingers crossed.”

For the uninitiated, Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva will now start streaming on Disney Plus Hotstar from November 4, 2022. The second part has been titled Brahmastra: Part Two – Dev. It is slated to release in 2025.
