Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan released in the theaters on 7th September. Since then, it has been creating new box office records. SRK, as well as the entire cast members are winning audiences’ hearts. The Atlee directorial stars SRK as Vikram and Azaad Rathore, Nayanthara as an honest cop, and Vijay Sethupathi as a villain. On the other hand, Ridhi Dogra plays the role of SRK’s guardian in Jawan. Now, in a recent interview, Ridhi revealed that she had initially said no to the role. However, it was Atlee who convinced her and the rest is history.

Ridhi had rejected the role in Jawan

Speaking with India Today, Ridhi said, “I’ll be honest, I was very nervous about taking this up, but I didn’t know any better. I didn’t understand if I should do it, or I should not do it. The only thing I saw in it was that it was challenging for me. That’s the only thing that pushed me to do it.”

The actress added, “Atlee told me about the role, but it was a brief idea, so I contemplated it. I said no first to playing a mother on screen because I love Shah Rukh Khan so much and was in two minds about this. I mean ‘it’s SRK’. But then, when Atlee called me to meet again, I was convinced about their process.”

She went on to add, “Everyone wants to look beautiful in the quintessential way; starlet, fashionista, but I am also an actor. So, I took playing a mother as a challenge and wanted to take it up.”

That’s not all, Ridhi stated that the director warned her that her character might turn into a meme and told her to be ready for it.

Now that Jawan has released, fans are all hearts for Ridhi. The actress has delivered a terrific performance and there’s no doubt about that.

Directed by Atlee, Jawan is creating a storm at the box office. Within four days, it has collected over Rs 500 crore globally.
