Rishi Kapoor breathed his last in a Mumbai hospital today. He was 67. The veteran actor was battling with cancer since the last few years. It was only last September when he had returned to India after a year-long treatment in the US.

Just after Irrfan Khan’s death, the news of Rishi’s demise has left the entire film industry devastated. Celebs like Priyanka Chopra, Kangana Ranaut, Karan Johar, Ajay Devgn mourned the veteran actor’s death by sharing heartfelt notes on social media.

Madhuri Dixit

Actress Madhuri Dixit, who has worked with Rishi in films like ‘Prem Granth’, took to her Twitter handle and wrote, “I’ve had the honour of working with Rishi ji. A larger than life person, so outspoken yet so warm. We have lost a brilliant actor today. Still can’t believe it.. absolutely heartbroken. My prayers are with the family during this tough time.”

Ajay Devgn

Ajay expressed his sadness by posting, “One blow after another. Rishi ji’s passing away is nothing short of a stab to my heart. We associated in Raju Chacha (2000) and stayed in touch through…until now. Condolences to Neetuji, Ranbir, Riddhima & Dabbooji.”

Kangana Ranaut

“A person who has always been lively and vibrant and extremely friendly… an actor who always encouraged and appreciated me. My heart goes out to Neetu ji. Rest in Peace #RishiKapoor, ” wrote Kangana’s team.

Mourning the veteran actor’s death, Shahid Kapoor wrote, “You will always be in our hearts, sir. Your charm your warmth and your unforgettable performances will give light to us all in the darkest moments. Deepest condolences to Neetuji, Ranbir and the entire family.”

Filmmaker-actor Farhan tweeted, “Absolutely heartbroken. This is an irreparable loss. To the film industry. To the audiences. And to all who were blessed enough to know him personally. Love you Rishi uncle. #RIP”
