Actor R Madhavan and author Chetan Bhagat got into a playful spat on Tuesday morning. Their witty interaction on Twitter soon turned into a playful banter that left fans in splits. It all began when the official account of Netflix India on Twitter asked its audience whether they like books over movies. Responding to the tweet, Chetan Bhagat tweeted that he likes books penned by him and movies based on them.

R Madhavan soon responded and tweeted that he is biased towards films.

The author responded, “Have you ever heard anyone ever say the movie is better than the book?” To which Madhavan quipped, “Yes, 3 Idiots”.

Their exchange soon picked up the pace with both of them taking swipes at each other all in good humour.

Madhavan and Chetan ended their verbal jousting on a cordial note. Chetan wrote that if this is a writing test by R Madhavan he has passed. He next asks, “what did you think about my Netflix debut. Madhavan joked that the author is ‘better on the big screen’, just like his books. But he further added that the author was brilliant in the show.

For the unversed, R Madhavan and Chetan Bhagat have come together for Decoupled, which also features Surveen Chawla, Decoupled is streaming on Netflix from December 17.
