YRF will build Aneet Padda as a theatrical heroine, her next release Nyaya, directed by Nitya Mehra, is a streaming project that shot before Aneet signed Saiyaara. This morning, internet went abuzz with reports saying that Gen Z sensation of the year, Saiyaara’s Aneet Padda’s next is a streaming project directed by Nitya Mehra and her husband Karan Kapadia.
Aneet Padda’s Next Is Courtroom Drama
When checked, industry sources have revealed that this project in question, titled Nyaya, was shot before Aneet signed Saiyaara and that her she would be built as a theatrical heroine post Saiyaara’s historic success.
“Aneet is a big screen heroine for YRF. Nyaya was shot before she signed Saiyaara and it has no bearing on her career trajectory as a theatrical heroine going forward. A girl who is delivering probably a 400 crore hit in theatres, is a true Gen Z star at the age of just 22, will be preserved for theatricals. There are huge plans to make her the face of a generation and that can be achieved only by consolidating her theatrical equity,” informed a trade source.
Nyaya is a courtroom drama inspired by real events. She’ll play a 17-year-old survivor taking on a powerful spiritual leader, with Fatima Sana Shaikh as a police officer and Arjun Mathur in another major role. It is produced by Sameer Nair’s Applause Entertainment along with Mangata Films.
It is directed by Nitya Mehra, known for Baar Baar Dekho and Made in Heaven, and her husband, Karan Kapadia. This marks their second project with actress Aneet after Big Girls Don’t Cry. The show also stars Arjun Mathur, Mohd. Zeeshan Ayyub, Raghubir Yadav, and Rajesh Sharma.
On the work front, Aneet was latest seen in Saiyaara with Ahaan Panday in lead role. The film was produced by Yash Raj Films and directed by Mohit Suri, it hit the screens on July 18.
