The renowned film production company, Yash Raj Films has been hitting the headlines from the last few days, but for all the wrong reasons. The film production company has been accused of allegedly pocketing a whopping price of Rs. 100 crore from the artists for collecting music royalties of members of the Indian Performing Rights Societ. Now, the music composer and the singer, Salim Merchant reveals that he has not got his dues from the production for the last four years.

While talking to Quint recently, Salim Merchan reveals that he and Sulaiman were not paid their dues by the production house. He revealed that “Yash Raj has been collecting money on behalf of the composer and lyricist- that much I know – but I don’t know whether they have paid anyone. They have certainly not paid me and Sulaiman. It’s Yash Raj Films and T-Series, these two companies have not been paying”.

Apparently, an FIR has been registered by the complainant(IPRS) against Yash Raj Films and the directors, Aditya and Uday Chopra. While talking about the chairperson of the Indian Performing Rights Society, he said, “I know Javed Akhtar Sahab has not been paid, for sure. Because of my last meeting with him… You know he’s not been paid, Sulaiman and I have not been paid – any royalties that have come from Yash Raj Films, we have not been paid,” Salim told the publication.” However, there is no official confirmation from Yash Raj Films on the same yet.
