Man sending death threat to Salman Khan caught by police

A man who allegedly sent a death threat to Salman Khan over the phone has been traced to Vadodara, Gujarat. He has found to be mentally unstable since 2014, police said. The police have not arrested the accused but have summoned him for questioning.

The actor has received many death threats over the past year. Back in 1998, during the filming of Hum Saath-Saath Hain, Salman Khan along with co-stars was accused of hunting blackbucks. Ever since then, he has been receiving death threats from gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and the Bishnoi gang, who consider the Blackbuck sacred.

On April 14 last year, two bike-borne men fired four rounds of gunshots at Salman Khan’s Bandra residence. Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang had claimed responsibility for the firing in a Facebook post and admitted being responsible for politician Baba Siddiqui’s death who was a close friend of Salman.

During his recent release Sikandar, Salman spoke about the incident and threats. He said, “Bhagwan, Allah sab unpar hai. Jitni umar likhi hai, utni likhi hai. Bas yahi hai. Kabhi kabhi itne logon ko saath mein leke chalna padta hai, bas wohi problem ho jaati hai. (Bhagwan, Allah everything is upto him. I will live as long as I am destined to live. Just that, sometimes, I have to move with two people with me. That becomes a problem.)”
