Salim Khan contacted the police and an FIR was registered under section 506-II (Criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at the Bandra police station. The authorities are also checking the CCTV footage of the area.

The threat assumes significance as it comes days after the Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala was shot dead. The singer was allegedly killed by the members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which allegedly killed Moosewala, threatened Salman Khan in 2018.  Lawrence Bishnoi is lodged in Delhi’s Tihar jail and is being questioned by the police on the killing of Sidhu Moose Wala.
