Amid rising anticipation for Vishal Bhardwaj’s O Romeo, starring Shahid Kapoor, reports indicate that the filmmakers have decided to cancel the trailer launch event due to security concerns. The film, which has generated buzz following the release of its teaser a few days ago, is now embroiled in controversy after receiving a legal notice from the daughter of Hussain Ustara.
Shahid Kapoor Starrer O Romeo Trailer Launch CANCELLED
According to the latest reports, the decision to cancel the trailer launch was made in light of these developments. Pinkvilla reports that security concerns arose after the legal notice was sent by Sanober Shaikh, the daughter of Hussain Ustara, who also allegedly demanded a ransom of Rs 2 crore from the film’s team.
For context, Sanober Shaikh had sent a legal notice to the filmmakers just days earlier. She claimed that her father was portrayed inaccurately in Vishal Bhardwaj’s film. She demanded Rs 2 crore in compensation and asked the makers to halt or cancel the film’s release until her concerns were addressed satisfactorily. The notice was addressed to producer Sajid Nadiadwala of Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment and director Vishal Bhardwaj, alleging that the film’s portrayal could harm her family’s reputation.
As of now, the filmmakers have not issued any official statement regarding the cancellation of the trailer event. More details are awaited.
