Recently, Sony Pictures announced that Indian superhero Shaktimaan is coming back in big screen. It is said to be a trilogy. This news sent netizens into a frenzy specially all the 90s kids. The original TV series Shaktimaan starred Mukesh Khanna who played the titular role. The actor is quite excited about the upcoming film that is also co-produced by his production house Bheeshm International. In an interview with ETimes, Khanna revealed that they were working on it, but was waiting for the right time to make an announcement. He feels relieved that he could keep his promise to his fans of making a movie on Shaktimaan.

When asked if he is part of the movie, he said he cannot disclose it but will be involved in the making. He further said that Shaktimaan will retain its originality and the essence will not change even in the film.

He added, “He is the biggest superhero in the world because the kind of powers he has, no other superhero has. Shaktimaan will remain the same, things around him will change. It will be made on a higher scale and keeping today’s scenario in mind. Shaktimaan will retain its originality and the essence will not change even in the film.”

TV series Shaktimaan aired on Doordarshan in 1997. Apart from Mukesh Khanna, it also featured Kitu Gidwani, Vaishnavi, Surendra Pal, and Tom Alter. It ran for 450 episodes for over almost eight years.
