Shilpa Shetty hosts football legend Wayne Rooney on his visit to India amid FIFA World Cup

The whole world has been reeling in the football fever for the last few weeks now with one of the biggest sporting events in the world, the FIFA World Cup, going on in full swing in Qatar. The finals of this year’s edition is just one day away and the excitement of it all is at an all time high and seems like Shilpa Shetty got to double her enthusiasm as she enjoyed the game with a football legend himself.

Taking to Instagram, Shilpa Shetty shared a picture of herself with football legend Wayne Rooney from her restaurant in Mumbai. The English football player is amongst one of the greats in the sport and he met the actress during his recent visit to India. As she shared the picture on social media, an excited Shilpa wrote, “Football Fever… With the legend himself @waynerooney , Welcome to India… Friday night done right (sic)”. And seems like they had a great time together as Rooney also replied on the picture to Shilpa saying, “Pleasure to meet you and your family (sic)”.

The ongoing FIFA World Cup 2022 is in its final stage with France and Argentina all set to face each other in the final tomorrow. While Argentina will be looking to win the trophy for its captain and football elite Lionel Messi for the first time, France will be trying to successfully defend their title as the world champions. This year’s edition has had a lot of Indian presence too as Nora Fatehi featured in the edition’s official anthem Light The Sky, whereas Deepika Padukone will be unveiling the winner’s trophy tomorrow during the finals. As for Shilpa, she has some exciting projects in the offing ahead which includes the slice-of-life film Sukhee and Rohit Shetty’s web series Indian Police Force where she plays a cop.
