What Is the Raj Kundra Rs 60 Crore Cheating Case?

In August 2025, Raj Kundra and Shilpa Shetty were booked by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW). It was for allegedly cheating a Mumbai-based businessman out of Rs 60.4 crore, related to a loan-cum-investment deal. An unidentified individual was also charged in connection with the case.

The complainant, Deepak Kothari, alleged that the couple defrauded him of over Rs 60 crore through their now-defunct company, Best Deal TV Pvt Ltd. Kothari claimed he invested the amount between 2015 and 2023. He believed it was for expanding a business, but the money was allegedly misused for personal expenses. The EOW is currently investigating the matter.
