Ram Gopal Varma quits Twitter

Just few days back, singer Sonu Nigam had quit the social networking site Twitter. The singer felt that the platform is not the right one for him now, as anything he would say would be misconstrued. Sonu had questioned Twitter’s policies after the site had deleted the account of Abhijeet Bhattacharya, owing to his abusive and demeaning tweets, which were very communal in nature. However, soon after, tweets started pouring him which questioned his ideologies as he supported Abhijeet. This did not go down well with the singer, and he announced that he will be leaving, writing a long 24-tweet long rant first.

Now, another celeb who is very active (and infamous) on Twitter has quit Twitter, and it is none other than Ram Gopal Varma, whose tweets come under the scanner every now and then. He also shared that he will be available on Instagram, henceforth.

This was quite a surprising move, as Ram Gopal Varma had completed eight years on Twitter. Speaking on the same, the filmmaker said, “My pleasantly unpleasant surprise is I am getting out of Twitter…To all my followers, no thanks for following me all these years.” [sic]

“I decided to speak only through pictures and videos on Instagram from now on…”, added the filmmaker. [sic]

Ram Gopal Varma’s last tweet read, “This my last tweet before my tweet death..but I will not RIP and seriously work from now on @RGVzoomin Birth:27/5/2009 Death:27/5/2017.” [sic]

Have a look at the screenshot of his last tweet:

Well, well, this is certainly quite curious as the filmmaker has not cited any reason for this move of his. Let us wait for more updates on the same.

On work front, Varma’s ‘Sarkar 3’, starring megastar Amitabh Bachchan, Amit Sadh, and Yami Gautam hit the theatres recently. This was the third in the acclaimed ‘Sarkar’ franchise. It did not do well at box office.
