Shooter Linked To Rohit Shetty's House Firing Incident Arrested In Agra

The Mumbai Police and UP Police Special Task Force jointly arrested the gunman allegedly involved in the firing at Rohit Shetty’s house. The shooter reportedly opened fire at Shetty’s residence in Mumbai two months ago. He was apprehended by a combined team of the Uttar Pradesh STF and Mumbai Police Crime Branch on Thursday.

Shooter Linked To Rohit Shetty’s House Firing Incident Arrested In Agra

According to a police statement as reported by Free Press Journal, the accused has been identified as Pradeep Kumar alias Gaath. He was detained from the Chhadami Mattha area on the Agra-Etah road, within the Bah police station limits in Agra, at 3:56 PM on Thursday.

The attack on Rohit Shetty’s home in Mumbai’s Juhu suburb occurred on the night of February 1, 2026. Gunmen fired shots at Shetty Tower, the filmmaker’s residence, hitting the glass railing on his balcony. The ass*ult was allegedly carried out at the behest of the notorious Shubham Lonkar gang. The intent was to extort money and create fear within the film industry and the public.

Joint Operation By UP STF And Mumbai Police

The police described the arrest as “the result of technical analysis and intelligence sharing between the Mumbai crime branch and the Uttar Pradesh STF.” The operation was led by Rakesh, Additional Superintendent of Police, STF Field Unit, Agra. The accused, a resident of Ashok Nagar in Agra, was reportedly motivated by the Lonkar gang’s activity on Facebook and Instagram. This led him to target Rohit Shetty.

During initial questioning, the suspect admitted to participating in the crime along with associates Sunny, Deepu, and Sonu. It was made in an effort to establish “dominance” in the underworld. After his arrest, he was handed over to the Mumbai Police team at the Bah police station. A case has been registered under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Arms Act, Maharashtra Police Act, and the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act. It had been registered by Mumbai Police in February.

Pradeep is the latest to join the list of arrests in this high-profile case. Earlier, 8 other suspects, including Pradeep Sharma alias Golu, Deepak, and Vishnu Kushwaha, were apprehended through joint operations.
