In an interview with DNA recently, Abhay Chopra had confirmed that if given a chance to make a remake of any of grandfather, BR Chopra or dad, Ravi Chopra’s films, he would choose BR Chopra’s ‘Ittefaq’.

And now the daily has confirmed that Abhay will soon be remaking the Yash Chopra directorial 1969 murder mystery, ‘Ittefaq’, which featured Rajesh Khanna, Nanda, and Sujit Kumar.  The remake will have Sidharth Malhotra and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead roles, confirms the newspaper.

The original too was a remake of the British film, ‘Signpost to Murder’ starring Joanne Woodward. Abhay’s remake is currently in its prep stage with the reading session of the actors to begin soon. The movie will go on the floors by the year end. The makers have apparently changed the climax of the film, which will be produced by Shah Rukh Khan, Karan Johar and Abhay’s brother Kapil.
