Sivamani made his debut as a music composer with ‘Atkan Chatkan’ and recorded a prayer song with Amitabh Bachchan. The prayer song ‘Daata Shakti De’ has been written by his wife Runaa Rizvii Sivamani. AR Rahman is one of the producers of the movie.

We recently had an interview with Sivamani and his wife where they spoke at length about the song, AR Rahman, Amitabh Bachchan and a lot more about music. Talking about Rahman, he said, “I know AR Rahman from childhood. My father and Shekhar (AR Rahman’s father) uncle, they were good friends and worked together. We started meeting in studios and we formed a band and we had very good energy together when we worked on anything. He had confidence in me and I know what he wants. When we were doing ‘Nadaan Parindey’ (Rockstar) song in his studio, I didn’t know what instrument I would play, so the boss arrived and he said ‘play’. When I played he was not happy with the sound. I asked him to relax and then he himself balanced my drum kit and he edited that song beautifully. He is a master in the edit.”

He added, “Since childhood, my dream was to see AR Rahman in the Everest because he is a blessed child and a genius. Anything if he is doing wrong, I call him and say ‘what is this? Don’t do this.'”

Runaa Rizvii who worked with AR Rahman for the song ‘Jaane Tu’ (Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na) said that he was very supportive when she recorded the song and how he changed the antara of the song as per her convenience. She said, “He is a very very good soul and has a positive aura around him. When he stands, you can’t see anything else but him.”
