Soha Ali Khan

Looks like soon to be mommy Soha Ali Khan has called for some trouble! Apparently, a weapon registered in her name was used to kill blackbuck, an endangered specie. The major complication here is that this arm was licensed to her when she was a minor and that’s illegal.

Lokayukta Justice (retd) Nawal Kishore Agarwal has ordered the Gurgaon Police commissioner and the force’s Arms Licensing Authority to provide a report on how did they issue a license to a minor. A license for a .20 bore gun, an NPB rifle, pistol and a .22 bore rifle was issued to her in 1996 when she was a minor. Apparently, Soha obtained arms licence by concealing material fact of her age from the authority.

As per the report, “She (Soha) cheated the licensing authority and dishonestly induced it to deliver her arms licence which is a valuable security. Thus, prima facie, she committed an offence punishable under Section 420 of the IPC. authority.”

This license had her father Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi as the retainer of the weapons and as per a complaint; the retainer has made use of this weapon to hunt a female blackbuck. An FIR was registered on June 5, 2005 under Sections 51, 39, 9 of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972, at Jhajjar police station. (Also Read: Soha Ali Khan to debut as an author, is penning a book)
