Here comes a breaking news! Sony Pictures International, that backed this year’s successful movies like ‘Pad Man’ and ‘102 Not Out’, has come on board to bankroll the biopic of one of the most successful female cricketers – Jhulan Goswami.

Noted trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the news on Twitter, captioning, “Fresh from the success of #PadMan and #102NotOut, Sony Pictures International Productions India acquires rights for a biopic on legendary cricketer Jhulan Goswami… Sony will develop and produce #JhulanBiopic in partnership with Dunamis Entertainment.”

For the uninitiated, Goswami, a small town girl from West Bengal, entered the India National Women’s Cricket team at the age of 19 (2002) and took retirement this April. Though she was an all-rounder, she was considered as the best woman bowler of all time. As of 2018, she has the record of taking highest wickets. Apart from Cricketing honours, she is also a recipient of Arjun Award (2010), and Padma (2012).

It will be awaited to see who will bring the life of legendary cricketer on the silver screen.
