Shah Rukh Khan

Touted as the ultimate King of romance, actor Shah Rukh Khan has completed 25 long years in the film industry. He had started off in the year 1992 and in the last 25 years, he has received immense love and experienced stardom that one could have only dreamt of. But, it hasn’t been an easy ride for the actor who has been an outsider with no Godfather to fall back on. Starting off from small roles in television, he smoothly progressed to the big screen and is one of the biggest superstars of the country today.

The actor has stated that he has got ten billion times more than what he had ever imagined. Said SRK during promotions of the movie, “This is ten billion times more than that I dreamt of.” He further added, “I wanted to get married and have kids, and that’s it. So I never look back as I cannot fathom all that I got. SRK made inroads into Bollywood with the movie ‘Deewana’ in the year 1992. Post that, he worked his magic as the romantic hero with several movies like ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’, ‘Kuch Kuch Hota’ Hai’, ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’, ‘Dil Toh Pagal Hai’ amongst many others. Then, he earned critical acclaim with movies like ‘Darr’, ‘Swades’ and ‘Chak De! India’. He has his own production house Red Chillies Entertainment which is spearheaded by his wife Gauri Khan. He also owns an IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders and is the brand ambassador of Dubai and West Bengal tourism.

Says SRK, “My dreams were very small. I did not have a house but I wanted a small house. I wanted to earn money when I was young and all I wanted at that point was to earn one lakh. I wanted to be a lakhpati. I thought it is a big thing to be a lakhpati and that is still true. So, my initial dreams were fulfilled in the first five-six years, courtesy the film industry and love of the audience in India.” He signed off by saying, “Not only in films but as a person, a father and a husband. I think the search for something new keeps us alive.”

On the work front, his movie ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ recently released in cinema halls. He will next be seen in Aanand L Rai’s movie slated to release next year.
