The year 2023 has been quite special for Bollywood. Stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Sunny Deol and Ranbir Kapoor redefined stardom this year. Along with them, there were many new faces that came and made a place in the audience’s hearts. From Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor and Agastya Nanda in The Archies to Nayanthara’s new stint in Hindi films with Jawan, there were some impressive Bollywood debuts that happened in 2023. And as we draw the year to a close, here’s a little reminder of them.

Most promising Bollywood debuts in 2023

Ridhi Dogra

After a successful stint on the small screen for a long time, Ridhi Dogra finally made the jump to the big screen this year. And she did that so phenomenally that not just one, but she was a part of 3 films in 2023. She made her debut with the small-budgeted vigilante film Lakadbaggha. However, her other two films were as big as they can get. She appeared in Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan as well as Salman Khan’s Tiger 3.

Anubhav Singh Bassi

Anubhav Singh Bassi has been ruling the stand up space for a while now. This year, he added another feather to his cap by making his acting debut in Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar. He portrayed the role of Ranbir’s best friend and won the audience over with his impeccable comic timing.

Shehnaaz Gill

Shehnaaz Gill became a household name with her stint in Bigg Boss 13. The popularity she achieved was something never-seen-before. This year, she brought it to the big screen as she debuted with Salman Khan starrer Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. Not just that, she also appeared in Bhumi Pendekar’s buddy comedy film Thank You For Coming.

Palak Tiwari

Shweta Tiwari’s daughter Palak Tiwari had been in news for her debut for a while. She was supposed to start her cinematic journey with Rosie. However, the film didn’t happen and Palak eventually debuted with Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. She played Jassie Gill’s love interest in the film and won over with her charm.

Siddharth Nigam

Siddharth Nigam made his transition from TV to films this year with Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan as well. Not just him, but the actress opposite him, Vinali Bhatnagar, was also a fellow debutante. The two of them looked really innocent in the film and left an impression on the audience.

Vijay Sethupathi

Vijay Sethupathi is already one of the biggest superstars down South, but this year, he made his foray in Hindi as well. And it wasn’t with just one, but three projects. While the first two- Farzi and Mumbaikar- came on OTT, he made his Hindi film debut with Jawan. The actor played the antagonist opposite SRK in the highest grossing Hindi film of all time, and floored everyone. He also has his second theatrical release in pipeline, Merry Christmas with Katrina Kaif.

Nayanthara

Not only Vijay but even Nayanthara took her first step in Hindi films with Jawan. Playing a fierce cop on the hunt for SRK, the actress proved why she is a superstar down South. Her chemistry with King Khan also became a huge appealing point for the film.

Rajveer Deol

2023 was truly the year of the Deols. While Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol gave Gadar 2 and Animal respectively, Dharmendra appeared in Rocky Aur Rani KIi Prem Kahaani. Rajveer Deol took over the onus for the next generation on the big screen with his debut in Dono. His boyish charm instantly connected to the audience and the actor showed immense promise.

Paloma

Along with Rajveer, Poonam Dhillon’s daughter Paloma also made her Bollywood debut with Dono. Her beauty and grace reminded the audience of her mother. She showed that she has a lot of potential through her nuanced portrayal. The actress also brought back the vibe of Rajshri heroines.

Pearl V Puri

Another TV actor who made the switch from the small to big screen in 2023 was Pearl V Puri. The heartthrob of the soapbox, as smoothly made his place on the 70 mm with Yaariyan 2. Appearing alongside Meezaan Jafri and Divya Khosla Kumar, Pearl truly made his presence felt.

Suhana Khan

Suhana Khan had one of the most awaited Bollywood debuts in 2023, and she didn’t disappoint. The youngster carried forward her father Shah Rukh Khan’s legacy ahead with The Archies. Portraying Veronica Lodge from the comic book series, Suhana showed sass and pizzazz. She is truly one to watch out for.

Khushi Kapoor

Following in her mother Sridevi and sister Janhvi Kapoor’s footsteps, Khushi Kapoor also forayed in acting with The Archies this year. Playing the innocent Betty Cooper, the actress became an instant fan-favourite. And if the rumour mills are to be believed, she has already bagged her second film with Ibrahim Ali Khan.

Agastya Nanda

With your grandfather being the great Amitabh Bachchan, it was never easy for Agastya Nanda to live up to the expectations. But the youngster did that as he made everyone swoon over his charm as Archie Andrews in The Archies. Apart from his acting, his dancing prowess too appealed to the audiences. He also has his second project in hand with Dharmendra, titled Ekkis.

Vedang Raina

As Reggie in The Archies, Vedang Raina made the ladies’ hearts skip a beat. His smirk just spoke volumes and had everyone flattered. Add to that his eclectic screen presence and polished acting skills, and you have a future star. He would truly be surprising the audience in the coming time. Along with him, even Yuvraj Menda and Dot made impressive debuts with The Archies.
