Sunidhi Chauhan

Singer Sunidhi Chauhan who ventured into acting with a short film ‘Playing Priya’ has a lot more respect for actors now. The short film which is directed by Imtiaz Ali’s brother Arif Ali saw Sunidhi debut on the short film circuit.

After working on this horror short film, Sunidhi speaks about her experience. Here’s what she said to a leading daily:

I respect actors a lot more now. When I faced the camera, I realised how much goes into making a film, be it a full length film or a feature film. The kind of patience and mental temperament you require, whether it is on or off camera, you just cannot forget your character. I have immense respect and love for actors . It was there before as well, but it has increased tenfold now. I said yes to doing a short film because I thought it’s just a five minute film and I can pull it off easily. At least it’s not a full length feature film. So, I thought I will be fine with it, but eventually I realised that if you want to do it seriously it is so much work. People who are serious about acting business must be giving an arm and leg for it.

The singer who has some amazing hit numbers like ‘Kamli’, ‘Sajna Ve’ and ‘Sheila Ki Jawani’ to her credit now plans to pursue acting as a full-time job. She says, “The gate is open. I am open to all kinds of roles and do proper films. Let’s see what comes my way.”
