Supriya Pathak On Deepika Padukone’s 8 Hour Work Shift Demand
When asked about her views on the 8-hour work shift demand by Deepika Padukone, Supriya Pathak said, “Dekhiye, acting aisi cheez hai ki agar main khud par kaam nahi karungi, toh aage main aapko kaunsi kahani bataungi? Main hi toh hoon saamne. As an actor, I am going to face the audience. Aur jab aap audience ko face karte ho, toh aapko uske liye prepared hona padta hai. Agar aap mujhe khud ko prepare karne ka time hi nahi doge, toh main audience kaise face karungi? Toh mujhe lagta hai ki yeh bahut important hai ki ek actor ko khud ko prepare karne ka waqt diya jaye — chahe woh actor ho ya actress.”
She continued, “Doosri baat, as women, hamari bahut saari responsibilities hoti hain. Hamari responsibility sirf ek cheez tak limited nahi hoti. Maine kahin ek bahut interesting program dekha tha jahan ek aadmi ka dimaag aur ek aurat ka dimaag dikhaya gaya tha. Aadmi ka dimaag khola toh sab kuch properly wired tha. Ek wire idhar ja raha hai, ek udhar ja raha hai, sab clearly connected.”
Supriya Shares How To Balance Our Thoughts
The Ram Leela actress said, “Lekin jab aurat ka dimaag khola toh bas wires hi wires. Itne saare wires ki samajh hi nahi aata kaunsa wire kaatne se kya hoga. Toh mujhe lagta hai ki hamara brain ek saath 20 cheezon ke baare mein soch raha hota hai. Aur aadmi ka brain bechara ek cheez par focus karta hai. Unki alag problem hai, hamari alag problem hai. Lekin isi wajah se humein balance ki zarurat hoti hai.”
Concluding, the veteran actress said, “Aur sach yeh hai ki women duniya mein kuch bhi kar sakti hain — aur karti bhi hain. Main bas yeh keh rahi hoon ki as women, we are already empowered by ourselves. Bas kabhi-kabhi hum khud ko ignite nahi karte. Agar thoda sa bhi ignition mil jaye, toh hum ek bahut powerful firecracker ban sakte hain.”
