Sushmita Sen insists there is no ‘imbalance’ in her daughters’ lives because of having no father

In 1994, when Sushmita Sen won the title of Miss Universe for India for the first time, she became an overnight sensation. During her winning night, in one of the questions, Sushmita was asked about what adventure she would like to embark upon. The actress had said that she’d want to spend time with kids as according to her, kids bring in a lot of adventure. They weren’t just words for her as she went on to adopt two daughters and become a single mother.

However, being a single mother has been challenging in its own way. If not personal, the challenges have been to deal with people’s perception and questions. Recently, the actress was asked in an interview with ETimes, one misconception about her she’d like to break about being a single mother

She responded with an amazing answer from her journey. She said, “That there is an imbalance (in her daughters’ lives) because they grew up without a father. Fathers are important but like everything else in life, you don’t miss what you’ve never had. So, that concept is different. So, it’s a misconception.”

Sushmita has been a doting and amazing mother to both her daughters, Renee Sen and Alisah Sen. She has always been vocal about her motherhood journey and it has been inspiring. Even when she has been in relationships, her daughters have had their individual equations with her partner. All three of them are still close to Sushmita’s ex Rohman Shawl, such is their bonding. The actress has always been a beacon of inspiration and she continues to do so.

Meanwhile, on the professional front, Sushmita is gearing up for the release of her next, Taali. The series features her as the transgender activist Gauri Sawant. The actress impressed everyone in the trailer of Taali and it will release on Jio Cinema. Taali has a release date of August 15, 2023. Apart from that, Sushmita also has Aarya 3 in pipeline. She has completed the shoot of it and an update on its release date is expected soon.
