The Big Bull Twitter Review: The Abhishek Bachchan starrer leaves netizens divided

Abhishek Bachchan and Ileana D’Cruz starrer The Big Bull was released on the OTT platform and fans are pouring their reviews on Twitter about Abhishek and the most important comparisons is with Hansal Mehta’s web series Scam 1992. Directed by Kookie Gulati, the film is based on the securities Scam of 1992. It is said to be loosely based on stockbroker Harshad Mehta’s life and his involvement in financial crimes over a period of 10 years, from 1980 to 1990.

Praising Abhishek Bachchan’s performance as a stylish scamster, one Twitter user said, “#TheBigBull What an Act it was Treat to See @juniorbachchan after Long in Such Stylish Stalwart Swag and Such an amazing detail screenplay keeps you on the edge of Seat #MustWatchMovie.” Comparing it with the web show Scam 1992, another tweeted, “Honestly speaking I just watch #TheBigBull @juniorbachchan sir performance was outstanding everyone did great work but yes if this movie came before #Scam1992 then might be this movie have a more powerful impact but still, this movie also great.” There are many comparisons between Scam ’92 and Big Bull. Many Netizens have also stated that it’s a bit of bad luck for Bigg Bull that Scam ’92 released before.

But then there were many who could not seem to like the movie as the comparison with Scam 1992 failed, one user wrote, “Watched #TheBigBullReview last night, there is nothing to compare with #Scam1992 .everything has disappointed As far as direction ,script and diloges are concerne . Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, The Big Bull did not have a theatrical release and solely released on DisneyPlus Hotstar. Talking about the same, Abhishek Bachchan had revealed that the film was expected to have a theatrical release but the pandemic forced them to go for a digital premiere instead. “The film was thought of, envisaged and dreamt of as a big screen spectacle. If you see the trailer, the songs, as well as everything else, is larger than life. It has been shot keeping the big screen in mind. We intended this for the cinemas,” he said.

The Big Bull is produced by none other than Ajay Devgn who is always a hands-on producer while Ajay and Abhishek have worked together a lot in the past including the blockbuster action-comedy Bol Bachchan directed by Rohit Shetty in 2012. Junior B treats Ajay as his elder brother. Abhishek was on a bit of a sabbatical from acting for nearly 2 years and he chose Manmarziyaan to return to 70mm, the film worked for Abhishek.
