The whole of India is eagerly waiting for the release of IAF Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman. Abhinandan could be arriving in India anytime from now after Pakistan PM Imran Khan released him as a ‘peace gesture’. Now, Vidya Balan was also quite concerned and praying for the safety of Abhinandan.

Vidya Balan was present at an event in Mumbai and in an interview with ANI, she said, “I am very happy that Captain Abhinandan is going to come back. He is coming back home safe. I can only imagine what his family must have gone through. I just hope and pray that somehow peace prevails, because an eye for an eye will turn the whole world blind.”

Actress Raveena Tandon, who was also present at the event and said we should not get carried away and the war-like situation is not healthy. Vidya is totally hitting the nail on head as going on a war against Pakistan is not going to do any good for both the countries. Many prominent Bollywood personalities are also reiterating the same point. The likes of Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Ajay Devgn had also condemned the Pulwama attack.

On the work front, Vidya Balan was last seen in Suresh Triveni’s ‘Tumhari Sulu’, which released in 2017. She will be next seen in ‘Mission Mangal’.
