Vijay Sethupathi to play Vibhishana in Ranbir Kapoor starrer Ramayana? Here’s what we know

Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash is one of the much-awaited movies. Recently it was reported that Lara Dutta will be joining the cast and essay the role Kaikeyi. And now, looks like the cast of Ramayana is getting bigger and better as Vijay Sethupathi will reportedly essay the role of Vibhishana.

Speaking of Vijay joining the cast, a source close to development said Pinkvilla, “Nitesh Tiwari recently met Vijay Sethupathi and took him through the script and the world that he is looking to create with Ramayana for the spectacle. Vijay was blown away by the narration and the visuals and has shown his interest in the film”.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the movie is touted to be mounted on a grand scale. As per reports, it will star Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Raavan. Speculations are also rife that Sunny Deol might essay the role of Hanuman in the film. Last month, an X user claimed that Ranbir informed him about his next project, Ramayana, going on floors in the summer of 2024. The netizen met Ranbir at the airport and during the immigration queue, he briefly interacted with him. The movie is expected to release in 2025.

On calling it a wrap on Ramayana, Ranbir Kapoor will start shooting for the Sanjay Leela Bhansali-directed Love and War with Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal. Yash meanwhile will complete Toxic
