'OK Jaanu'

While Shraddha Kapoor is on a super high post the super success of ‘Baaghi’, her action flick with Tiger Shroff, Aditya Roy Kapur is on a low, thanks to director Abhishek Kapoor’s disaster, ‘Fitoor’. There’s a lot at stake for Aditya with his forthcoming film, remake of Mani Ratnam’s ‘OK Kanmani’, being directed by Shaad Ali. The buzz is that Shaad’s version of the original will be way more steamier than the original. The reason behind this is said to be the fact that Shaad’s last film, ‘Kill Dil’, and Aditya’s ‘Fitoor’ were huge flops, and the makers are leaving no stone unturned to ensure that people flock to the theatres to watch ‘OK Jaanu’ when it releases on January 13, 2017.

The last time Aditya and Shraddha came together in Mohit Suri’s ‘Aashiqui 2’, it was a breakthrough hit – but that was because of the music – which became an overnight sensation. For ‘OK Jaanu’, Adi and Shraddha have AR Rahman’s musical genius, but the music of the original, ‘OK Kanmani’ was not half as popular as ‘Aashiqui 2’. While one can always count on Rahman for coming up with a blockbuster album, the challenge this time is that the genre of the film doesn’t allow enough space to sneak in song and dance sequences. With this hurdle in space, one can only wonder how the makers will accommodate the mandatory six-odd songs that have become the order of the day.

While we are still trying to figure out, how the Shraddha-Adi chemistry play out in their second outing together, you guys tell us if you think this Tamil remake will make a mark at the box office, especially in the North Indian belt.
